Church-to-Church
Partnering your church home with one in Haiti.
American churches have the opportunity to spiritually and physically support a sister church in Haiti. Adventures In Missions is connected to more than 1000 churches (and their surrounding communities), many of which are still awaiting relief.
Local pastors have reported thousands of lives being transformed in the wake of the disaster. Each personal tragedy they hear is followed by a story of profound hope and resiliency. There is a revival that supersedes institutions happening in this land, and we want to partner you with Haitian church leaders in their effort to rebuild their country.
Progress To Date
As of May 2010, AIM has mobilized over 800 mission participants from the U.S. to go to Haiti this spring and summer. So far, over 20 American churches have sponsored a Haitian church, and we have received relief funds totaling over $63,000. This is a clear indication of the earnest desire of many Christians and churches to provide aid for the country. Moreover, it is an inspiring picture of the solidarity of the global church.
Shortly after the earthquake, it became clear to us that the only indigenous infrastructure left in the entire country is the Haitian church. In order to be involved in community development and rebuilding that doesn't promote dependency or colonialism, AIM is working through local church leaders in Haiti to reach and rebuild their communities.
We have developed a network and database of Haitian pastors that will partner with churches in America, and around the world, for prayer, encouragement, resources, and teams who will travel to provide hands-on help.
In order to do this effectively, we are working through a handful of indigenous leaders with whom we've been building a relationship over the months since the earthquake. These leaders will be the "front line" of the Church-to-Church Program, bringing coordination, administration, accountability and oversight.
An initial goal of 200 dynamic church partnerships is both feasible and realistic. These partnerships will include prayer, donations, mutual communication, and mission trips to facilitate relational growth and tangible rebuilding assistance. In fact, one of our early American partners has already scheduled a mission trip of 20 participants to visit their sponsored Haitian church.
What began as a vision is now making a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of Haitians, and those supporting the effort are also being transformed.
Going Forward
Having seen the first iteration of the program succeed, it is now essential to expand the number of American churches participating in the effort.
Not only can we help Haiti rebuild itself through empowering local leaders, together we can show the world what responsible compassion looks like.
To realize the next step of our vision, we need to raise $35,000. This will fund the salaries of those "front line" Haitian leaders for the next three years, as well as other costs associated with our Haitian staff guiding the program. This investment in local leadership will, in turn, help mobilize even greater numbers of people and resources to rebuild Haiti.
This giving project will have a long-term impact on the rebuilding needed in Haiti, as we work alongside the only infrastructure that can truly help Haiti in a healthy, sustainable way - the local church.

Each Haitian regional leader is recognized as a spiritual father in Haiti. They are full partners with us and guide our efforts. We thank you for caring about our brothers and sisters in Haiti. As you become more aware of the needs and grow in your relationship with your sponsored church, the possibilities to partner include praying, giving, and even going to visit your brothers and sisters in Haiti.

Pastor Miracus Destine has 70 people in his church and 7000 in his commuity.
They've been devastated by the earthquake. Some need to grieve. Many have lost loved ones.
Some are homeless. They're praying that their children can go back to school.
I'd love to give you more details about their situation. Some need tents or food, but we're starting with prayer - everyone needs your prayers.
We've got a database with hundreds of pastors and their communities in them like pastor Destine. We've told them that American Christians want to help. We want to connect you and your church in America with a pastor and his church in Haiti.
